When it comes to mental health, no one is immune to its deterioration. Nevertheless, the stigma surrounding people with mental health problems are always present in the workplace and sick leave is often an additional challenge. What happens concretely during sick leave? How and when do the different stakeholders interact?
The key stages of a long-term absence in a comic book
To better understand the mechanisms and stakes, the Study and Research Centre and Foundation in Mental Health in Montreal has created a comic strip (in French) tracing the entire journey of an employee on sick leave until he returns to work, as well as the various stakeholders and their roles.
Through Alex’s journey, you will discover all the key stages of a long-term absence. From diagnosis to recovery, through self-care and the progressive return to work, this comic strip illustrates the importance of adapted and multidisciplinary support during sick leave.
